#AtoZChallenge: #ShortStory – Letter N

Words for the AtoZ Challenge are randomly chosen using Random.Org.  Words used for letter N are:

  • NNeurotransmitter – hormone affecting nerve impulses
  • NC (North Carolina) –
  • Needle
  • Nabob – Very rich or important person
  • Narcissm – self love

Natalie concentrated hard as she struggled to hold onto and use the knitting needles she held in her hand.  She never imagined that it would be so hard to do so.  Her doctor had explained that neurotransmitters were misfiring causing the tremors in her hand.  Her husband, Nick, sat nearby on the couch watching a documentary about some nabob.

“You doing okay?”  Nick asked as he looked upon Natalie with concern.

“Yeah,”  Natalie replied,  “I’m just having difficulty holding on to these knitting needles

“Just keep trying,”  Nick encouraged,  “You can do this.”

Natalie nodded.  She considered herself lucky to have such a loving man as a husband now.  Her first husband had been turned out to be quite narcissistic.  Something Natalie hadn’t known when she had first married him.  After Noah passed away, Natalie moved back to North Carolina.  It was there  that she had met Nick and eventually fell in love.

Join Me in the month of April as I write “Alphabet stories” each day featuring a different letter from A to Z for the A to Z Challenge.
